Las Vegas, as big as it is to the world, it’s a relatively small place. Without getting too into the weeds of Paradise, Henderson, Southern Nevada, Northern Nevada, Summerlin, the biggest take away is FAMILY. Aside from the glitz and glam of the strip, there are thousands of families who call Las Vegas home, and we are very fortunate that the city is growing. More so in the sports world, we have been fortunate to be the recipients of grants, services and relationships with some of those big names.
One of those entities, Foley Entertainment, owns the Vegas Golden Knights NHL, the Henderson Silverknights Minor League Hockey and the Vegas Knighthawk in-Arena football team. We have been able to provide seats to our families at Lee’s Family Forum and get autographs from players. These types of partnerships are integral for securing funding but also to show our families and clients that there is space for inclusion and diversity in sports as well. Not only are sports for able-bodied people and spectators but they are ways to make them inclusive for those on the spectrum, those who need hearing devices when it’s too loud, anxiety in crowded spaces, ect. It’s something that the Forum and Foley think about, like having inclusion nights, sensory rooms and options for those who also want to enjoy these types of events.
We are grateful for their collaboration and the community connection to sports.
